Health Quality & Safety Commission | Web&ACTION: Using the IHI Global Trigger Tool for Measuring Adverse Events
How safe is the care you provide? Do you really know how much harm your patients are experiencing? The identification and measurement of adverse medical events (AEs) are central to patient safety, forming a foundation for accountability, prioritising issues that require attention, generating ideas for safer care, and determining if your improvement efforts are reducing harm.
The IHI Global Trigger Tool for Measuring Adverse Events is a tested, proven, and sensitive tool to measure harm.
The Web&ACTION: Using the IHI Global Trigger Tool for Measuring Adverse Events will teach participants how to use this tool to identify patient harm and how to use these results to measure the effectiveness of safety improvements designed to reduce patient harm.
The program is designed for teams of reviewers who intend to use the IHI Global Trigger Tool in their own hospitals. All members of a designated review team should participate in the three webinars — on February 14, February 28, and March 14.
