The successful electronic prescribing pilot at Dunedin Hospital is now being rolled out to all Southern District Health Board hospitals.

The new scheme improves medicine safety by allowing doctors to prescribe medicine electronically and will eventually be implemented in hospitals throughout the country.

The Minister for Health, Tony Ryall, visited the hospital this week to congratulate staff and see the programme in action.
