This review examines how people use the internet to access information about their illness. The authors found that while the health professional was still key in providing a diagnosis or information, individuals are increasingly turning to the internet for quick information about health problems. The low response rate in the telephone survey raises questions about its findings but it’s no surprise that the general public are using the internet more for health related information.

A summary of the report and commentary can be found in the Patient Psychology Research Review.
