There are currently 176 organisations in New Zealand providing information and support services to people with specific health conditions or disabilities.
These organisations have valuable ideas about how health and disability services can be improved, and we want to make it easier for them to be heard. We also want to know what they need so they can encourage consumer involvement and whether there are any barriers stopping people having their say.
The first step to improving communication is finding out what organisations are out there and what they are doing. The Commission conducted a survey to gather this information and the results are available in an online directory. This makes it easier for service providers and professional bodies to contact people affected by a health condition or disability which they are trying to help. It also makes it easier for people to find the support services they need.
The directory includes a list of District Health Boards and other useful links.
If you would like to list an organisation in the directory or update existing information about your organisation please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
