On Monday 14 October 2013 (9am – 4pm) Robert Francis QC will be in Wellington to discuss the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Inquiry report.
Mr Francis, a barrister specialising in the NHS and medical negligence, chaired the independent inquiry into the care provided by the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust between January 2005 and March 2009. The report made 290 recommendations with a number of broad themes, including the need for a common culture of putting the patient first and ensuring openness and transparency throughout the system.
There will be a panel discussion in response to Mr Francis’ presentation, with speakers commenting on the inquiry findings from a New Zealand perspective.
This event is brought to you by the Health Quality & Safety Commission, Waitemata District Health Board and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
