Plunket is contracted by the Ministry of Health to provide universal Well Child/Tamariki Ora programmes for children up to the age of five. The overall aim is to benefit children and reduce inequality.
Plunket aims to provide high-quality services that support families/whānau in maximising their child’s developmental potential and health, and establishing a strong foundation for ongoing healthy development.
To support the registered nurses and local community workers providing its services, Plunket has a Severity Assessment Code Framework. This highlights undesirable outcomes or risks to Well Child/Tamariki Ora outcomes.
The Severity Assessment Code Framework aligns with the Well Child/Tamariki Ora Quality Framework and the Triple Aim for Quality Improvement.
