Open for leadership awards 2018

The Commission launched the Open for leadership awards in January 2017, as part of our building leadership and capability programme.

The awards recognise emerging leaders who have made a difference to patient care, with a particular focus in 2018 on nominations for emerging primary care leaders or consumer leaders.

The awards are part of our ongoing partnership work with health providers to build capability and leadership, and share best practice.

Nominations are for individuals only, although they can be individuals who have successfully led a team. Clinical nominees must be within their first five years of taking on a clinical leader’s role.

In the 2018 awards, each district alliance in New Zealand can decide whom to put forward for the award, and how it goes about choosing that person.

Each award winner receives a certificate, trophy and free place at an upcoming Commission event of their choice (subject to availability).
