The Health Quality & Safety Commission is looking for a health care consumer to join the atlas steering group (ASG). Applications are sought from individuals that can work with the Commission and consumer networks to provide a consumer perspective to the Atlas of Healthcare Variation work programme.
The Atlas of Healthcare Variation highlights variation by geographic area in the provision and use of specific health services and health outcomes.
The atlas is designed to prompt debate and raise questions about health service use and provision amongst clinicians, users and providers of health services about why any differences exist, and to stimulate improvement through this debate.

Atlas steering group members are appointed for one year and membership is reviewed annually.
The steering group meets for two hours approximately seven times per year. The remaining meeting dates for 2015 (10am–12pm) are:
Read a copy of the ASG terms of reference.
The level of attendance fees will be set in accordance with the State Services Commission guidelines.
The following criteria will be used by the Commission to assist in the selection a suitable applicant.
