Infection prevention and control is everyone’s business and responsibility, whether you are a patient, family member or a health care professional.
The Health Quality & Safety Commission’s (the Commission’s) infection prevention and control (IPC) programme aims to reduce the number of infections people get while being treated for health problems.
Expert advice for the Commission’s IPC programme is provided by the Strategic IPC Advisory Group (SIPCAG).
The group has representation from IPC leadership across the sector, including:
- members of the Commission’s IPC programme
- the Ministry of Health
- DHB leadership
- the Accident Compensation Corporation
- the IPC Nurses College
- New Zealand Private Surgical Hospital Association
- the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases
- consumer representatives.
Working together we can ensure healthcare associated infections are reduced across the entire health care sector.
