This free, interactive workshop will enable participants to develop and implement solutions for tackling local hand hygiene challenges. The workshop is suitable for everyone in the health care sector.

Dr Michael Gardam is physician director of Infection Prevention and Control Canada and the national lead of infection prevention and control collaboratives for Safer Healthcare Now! He is a pioneer of behavioural change approaches, including ‘positive deviance’ and ‘frontline ownership’ to improve patient safety.

Michael is familiar with hand hygiene in New Zealand and presented at the national hand hygiene improvement workshop in June 2014. Many participants cited his session as one of the best they attended.

Places at the workshop are limited. Download a copy of the flyer or email Jane Lester (jane.lester@hqsc.govt.nz) to register your interest.

This workshop precedes the Infection Prevention & Control Nurses College conference in Napier, 2–4 September 2015.
