Gold auditor training workshops are designed to teach participants how to audit hand hygiene compliance using the 5 moments for hand hygiene audit tool.
Gold auditors who have not captured one hundred moments since their last training workshop should attend to assure the quality of data submitted for your DHB.
Workshops are also an opportunity to train new gold auditors to increase the number of hand hygiene gold auditors in each DHB. Coordinators may also appreciate the opportunity to attend a training workshop to facilitate an in depth understanding of the auditing process and data collection.
Gold auditors who have completed over one hundred moments are not required to attend a training workshop. An online learning package tailored specifically for auditing is currently being developed and will be provided on the HHNZ website. Once available, those who have completed more than one hundred moments will be asked to complete this on an annual basis.
The deadline to register interest in attending the 10 February workshop in Auckland is 12 noon on Friday 03 February 2012.
Those who attend are required to complete a Hand Hygiene Australia pre-workshop quiz, details of which will be emailed to registered individuals.
Please submit the details of staff members you would like to attend the training workshop on my email address below. Include their name, position, contact number, email, and whether they have experience with hand hygiene compliance auditing.
Morning tea and lunch will be catered. Please advise if there are any specific dietary requirements.
If you are unable to attend on 10 February 2012, additional training workshops, conducted by the HHNZ platinum auditors, will be held in Wellington and Christchurch in the next couple of months. We will update you regarding dates and venues as soon as they are confirmed.
