The Health Quality & Safety Commission’s opioid collaborative team has been working closely with district health board (DHB) teams, to ensure baselines for the collaborative are established and improvement initiatives can be measured. This is being supported by site visits to each DHB by the Commission's collaborative team.
The visits are a great opportunity to connect with DHB team members, engage in on-site learning, meet project sponsors and review progress in the lead up to learning session two, which will be held 23–24 June in Christchurch.
The Commission has engaged a number of quality improvement specialists from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) to support our work. They will help deliver a range of webinars, tools and resources as well as give on-site coaching at learning session two. We are delighted to have such a high calibre group involved and interested in our work.
Brief bios on the IHI executives are available to download here – more detail will follow in issue two of the safe use of opioids newsletter.
