The CYMRC's submission to the Green Paper for Vulnerable Children

16 Apr 2012 | Child & Youth Mortality Review Committee

The Child and Youth Mortality Review Committee (CYMRC) notes that children and young people who grow up in situations where adverse factors cluster suffer increased death rates from sudden unexpected death in infancy, many types of injury, suicide, some illnesses and assault. Children and young people who survive are likely to suffer more illnesses, poor educational outcomes, less success in the workforce, more criminal behaviour and be less able as parents. The CYMRC, therefore, believes the Green Paper on Vulnerable Children highlights a group of problems of crucial importance.
