The Conversation: supported decision-making hui

  • Event start: 20 Apr 2016 9:30am
  • Event end: 21 Apr 2016 3:30pm
  • Location: Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre, Auckland

Auckland Disability Law invites you to register for The conversation: supported decision-making hui.

The hui is for people with experience of supported decision-making and their support people, family and whānau; and disability and community organisations and agencies.

Everyone needs support when making decisions. Some people need a more targeted circle of support and tools to assist them to make decisions about their own lives. Supported decision-making is about nothing about us, without us. Successful supported decision-making empowers disabled people to make their own decisions and have control over their lives, on an equal basis with others.

Topics include:

  • Supported decision-making in NZ 2016: How does it look and feel?
  • Supported decision-making and the law: working with what we’ve got.
  • Supported decision-making: who gets to hold the remote?

Places are limited so get in quick!
