18 Mar 2014 | Partners in Care

Psyhcosocial Oncology New Zealand (PONZ) is seeking two cancer consumer representatives to join their Executive Committee.

The National Cancer Consumer Representatives Advisory Group has recommended that one position be filled by a member of the national group and expressions of interest be sought from the regional cancer network consumer representative groups for the second member.

PONZ wishes to have this position filled in March so that the successful candidate can attend the 4 April PONZ planning day.

  • Candidates must be interested in psycho-social aspects of cancer care and be comfortable contributing at a governance level – it is expected that this will be a 2-3 year commitment
  • Meetings are generally held on the second Wednesday of every month via teleconference and will be 1hr in duration. There is also an annual planning day and conference which would require your attendance
  • PONZ will cover phone / travel costs for meetings. CCN, as lead regional cancer network for consumer representation, will provide meeting fee payments as appropriate.
  • Please check out the PONZ website for more information about the organisation www.ponz.org.nz or contact emma.bell@chb.health.nz or hazel.neser@otago.ac.nz if you would like more information.

Applications should be made in writing outlining your interest and ability to fulfil this role, and can be sent to Chris Walsh, Chair NCCRAG, by 24th March 2014.
