Health Quality & Safety Commission consumer network member Traci Stanbury was a runner-up in the recent 2016 Minister of Health Volunteer Awards.
Traci was recognised for her work at Christchurch Hospital which showed that waiting areas were not well set up for children. Her work led to improved waiting areas which are now more child-friendly.
Traci has represented children and their families for the past seven years. She was previously on the Family Advisory Committee, and is the consumer representative on the Child and Youth Health South Island Alliance and the Health Quality & Safety Commission consumer network.
The awards were presented during National Volunteer Week in June, and recognise a range of volunteers for their input into improving health services.
