There have been some recent changes to the Health Quality & Safety Commission's Deteriorating Patient programme team.

Jenny Hill has joined us as specialist for the programme. Jenny comes from a role at the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, where she managed the recognising and responding to clinical deterioration programme. Prior this this, Jenny was a clinical nurse specialist at Wellington Hospital, where she developed and led the patient at risk team and multi-disciplinary medical emergency team.

Laura Ellis has joined us as advisor – consumer engagement. Laura comes from a role as a family advisor (mental health and addiction services) across Hutt Valley and Capital & Coast district health boards. This was a role that included strategic and operational elements, working across and outside of the mental health and addiction sector. Laura has experience sitting on sentinel event reviews, patient safety groups and complex case reviews.

Laura and Jenny join Dr Alex Psirides (clinical lead), Emma Forbes (senior project manager), Prem Kumar (quality improvement advisor), Hilary Sharpe (senior analyst) and Gary Tonkin (senior portfolio manager).
