The Health Quality & Safety Commission is bringing Dr Frances Healey to New Zealand for a series of workshops on falls.
Dr Healey is a Registered Nurse (Adult, Mental Health) whose involvement in senior clinical and management roles in older persons' care (in acute general and mental health settings) led to an interest in falls as one of the most significant safety risks for this vulnerable group.
In this workshop, Dr Healey will share her reflections on policy and leadership in falls prevention which will include the appropriate use of bedrails; assistance with dementia and confused patients; signalling; and footwear.
Who should attend: Directors of Nursing, quality managers, falls managers, community-based falls champions.
