Leadership: is it power, authority or influence?

  • Event start: 4 Oct 2016 1:00pm
  • Event end: 7 Oct 2016 5:00pm
  • Location: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton

The Health Quality & Safety Commission is holding a series of workshops with Professor Cliff Hughes, surgeon and president of the International Society for Quality in Health Care.

The discussion will focus on leadership in theatres and discussion with your colleagues and peers from other district health boards about the benefits of briefing, debriefing and the checklist for ensuring distributed leadership.

In 2016–17 year the Commission is focusing on the use of briefings and debriefings at the start and end of each theatre list – this is your chance to join in on the discussion and debate. These workshops are for surgeons, as their role in ensuring a safe and effective operating room environment is recognised, but other members of the operating room teams are encouraged to attend.
