Boston surgeon, Atul Gawande, talks about the need for improved systems within health care. He looks at how the role of doctors has changed over time, from being independant, courageous pioneers to specialists working as part of a team. With the increasing number of clinicians involved in a patient's care he believes checklists are an essential tool to improve safety.
