Whānau COVID-19 Serious Illness Conversation Guide – guide to support conversations with whānau
This guide was developed to support clinicians to have conversations with whānau about a patient's COVID-19 diagnosis. Clinicians can use it when a patient cannot talk for themselves or if they still have capacity and have given the clinician permission to talk to their whānau.
The guide is a set of structured questions to help clinicians who do not come from a palliative care background have conversations with seriously ill people and their whānau about what is most important to them if time were limited and/or their functional abilities were to change.
