Home and community support services experience survey: National results 2024

18 Jul 2025

This report presents national findings from the 2024 Home and community support services experience survey.

This survey was the first in a series of three to be carried out annually, to better understand how home and community support services are working for people across Aotearoa New Zealand, and how they can be improved.

The survey found that most people felt their services and supports were delivered in a way that was respectful of their identity and circumstances. Areas that could be improved included clearer communication from service providers, being able to contact services providers, and scheduling of support services.

The results from this survey will be used by participating service providers to improve the service they provide to people.

This survey will be run again in 2025 and 2026. If you are a home and community support services provider and would like to discuss joining the survey, please contact survey@hqsc.govt.nz.
