Window on the quality of health care

Every year Te Tāhū Hauora publishes a document we call A window on the quality of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health care. The Window provides a snapshot of the quality of health care in the country.

The Window on quality reports draw on national datasets via robust and validated indicators and other evidence to provide insight on the quality and safety of Aotearoa New Zealand’s health care. The data and analysis are intended as the start of an evidence-informed discussion to support the health sector to understand where improvements need to be made.

Recent Window reports have focused on health care for Māori and Pacific peoples. These reports were co-produced with Māori and Pacific experts, clinicians and consumers. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic the Window has focused on secondary impacts of the pandemic on equity, function and delivery of health care services and how these have been disrupted.

You can download our Window reports at the links below, with the most recent at the top.
