Elevate the voice of patients this Aotearoa Patient Safety Day

Aotearoa Patient Safety Day
31 May 2023

Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission is pleased to announce the theme of Aotearoa Patient Safety Day | Te Rā Haumaru Tūroro o Aotearoa 2023: ‘Engaging patients for patient safety’ with the tagline ‘Elevate the voice of patients’. This aligns with the international theme from the World Health Organization’s Global Patient Safety Day.

The theme is relevant across the health care sector including for primary and secondary health care providers, midwives, community health care providers and allied health care workers.

Our focus is on increasing awareness and understanding of the code of expectations for health entities’ engagement with consumers and whānau.

We invite health care providers across Aotearoa New Zealand to join us to celebrate this important mahi on Friday 17 November 2023.

Resources to promote the day will include:

  • physical resources: pens
  • digital resources: a video to promote the code, news items, social media graphics and suggested posts, screensavers, email signature headers for districts and other providers to use.

Further updates, including information about when orders for resources will open, will be available on our website in due course.
