Serious traumatic brain injury in Aotearoa New Zealand: Summary of improvement work

12th April, 2024

The serious traumatic brain injury national collaborative brought together nine teams of passionate multidisciplinary clinicians and consumers with lived experience to complete quality improvement projects that would improve outcomes for those who experience brain injury in Aotearoa New Zealand. The collaborative ran in two phases from October 2022 to June 2023.

The collaborative formed part of a broader programme of work by the National Trauma Network, the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission. This work aimed to reduce the mortality and morbidity of patients with brain injury through national consistency in acute management and supporting patients to receive the rehabilitation required for optimal recovery.

The report Serious traumatic brain injury in Aotearoa New Zealand: Summary of improvement work is available below, and the resources shown in the summary are also available below for your use.
