National Trauma Network report receives Plain English Award

National Trauma Network
10 November 2021

We are delighted to report the National Trauma Network’s Annual Report 2019/20 was a winner in the 2021 Plain English Awards in the Best Plain English Annual Report category. Congratulations to the team!

The awards are organised by the WriteMark Plain English Awards Trust and judged by an international panel of experts who in this category judged on excellence in communication with stakeholders. The comments about the trauma annual report from the judges were:

  • the use of visuals tell an interesting story
  • the layout and presentation make it easy to read and to follow the storyline
  • it is clear and uncluttered
  • there is a wealth of information and layers of complex information which are easy to follow.

On receipt of the award at an online ceremony, Siobhan Isles, national programme director for the National Trauma Network, thanked and acknowledged everyone who contributed to the report, including trauma nurses and data managers who collect and input data to the registry, clinical teams, regional networks, the Commission team and all stakeholders who contribute in so many ways to national efforts to improve outcomes from injury.
