National Wound Awareness Week New Zealand: 26 July - 1 August 2021

The NZ Wound Care Society (NZWCS), in partnership with ACC, is holding its second National Wound Awareness week from 26 July - 1 August 2021.

Burns and scalds will be the focus for the week this year. The purpose of the week is for healthcare providers to have an increased awareness and knowledge about burns and scalds, as well as education for consumers on prevention and appropriate first aid.

Included in the week will be:

  • Regional education sessions
  • Development of a consumer leaflet and poster
  • A webinar of six 10 min presentations on various related topics
  • A national awareness competition for schools and pre-schools/kōhanga reo.
