24 January 2017

The first Choosing Wisely symposium to be held in New Zealand will occur on 30 March 2017 at Te Papa Museum in Wellington. It is aimed at doctors and all health professional groups and administrative staff and policy makers interested in the implementation of Choosing Wisely in New Zealand services

Registrations are now open for the event, which will feature Choosing Wisely Canada chair and co-founder Professor Wendy Levinson as a keynote speaker.

Choosing Wisely launched in New Zealand in December 2016. It focuses on reducing the number of unnecessary tests, treatments and procedures carried out on patients.

The campaign is being run by the Council of Medical Colleges, in partnership with the Health Quality & Safety Commission and Consumer. A number of other health professional organisations are supporting the campaign.
