World Congress on Integrated Care begins in Wellington

Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission
23 November 2016

Wellington hosts the 4th World Congress on Integrated Care from today – the first time this event has been held in New Zealand.

The three-day International Federation for Integrated Care event brings international speakers together to advance the science, knowledge and adoption of integrated care policy and practice.

The Health Quality & Safety Commission is a major sponsor of the event along with General Practice New Zealand and the Ministry of Health.

The Commission has helped to bring Dr Jocelyn Cornwell to New Zealand and is delighted with the opportunity.

Dr Cornwell will be presenting on lessons learned during her time with England’s NHS. She has written a lot about integrated care and is a world-renowned expert on the subject.

Dr Cornwell also has a focus on consumer engagement and will be sharing her knowledge as a keynote speaker and with Commission staff/stakeholders at an invitation only workshop.

The Congress has a primary care focus, which ties in with the Commission’s increased focus on primary care.
