In New Zealand, inequities in health and in the determinants of health are pronounced, particularly for Māori and Pacific peoples. These inequities affect not only how harm occurs, but also the impact of harm and the effectiveness of interventions following harm. The review process must be designed with an understanding of these inequities and develop specific actions to address them in line with ōritetanga.
