Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratios results 2007–13

24th October, 2015

Hospital Standardised Mortality Ratios (HSMRs) are used as a tool to flag when further investigation of mortality is warranted. They should not be used in isolation and cannot be used to rank hospital performance.

There are many factors that influence HSMRs, some of which may be beyond the control of the facility. This report shows the national results as well as graphs per district health board for the calendar years 2007 to 2013.
