Te Pou – Māori responsive rubric and guidelines

Ngā Pou Arawhenua has assisted the Health Quality & Safety Commission's mortality review committees to better understand Māori mortality review practice through the production of Te Pou, the Māori responsive rubric and guidelines.

The development of Te Pou provides the committees with a tool to assist with the interpretation, and reporting of, Māori mortality. The tool enables Ngā Pou Arawhenua to provide our committees with support and consistent feedback, and to strengthen a Māori perspective in mortality review committee reports. The guidelines further assist committees to embed culturally appropriate components in death reviews, reports and recommendations, and is to be used in conjunction with Te Pou.
