This is the 2016 update of the Health Quality & Safety Commission's health quality and safety indicators. The summary indicators cover an internationally recognised range of aspects of quality in our health care system – safety, patient experience, effectiveness, access/timeliness, efficiency and equity.
This is the sixth update of the data from the first publication in June 2012.
These are the data that underpin the Commission’s report A Window on the Quality of New Zealand’s Health Care. The compendium, published as a Prezi, allows users to drill down in greater detail and look at related data, international comparisons and commentary.
In this update we have included more information about the value of New Zealand’s health care in line with the recent Window publication.
The indicators are presented using Prezi – a cloud-based interactive presentation with a zooming interface. The software allows the Commission to present the lead indicator with a range of commentary and other data that allow, for example, international comparisons and time trends to be grouped easily.
