This resource aims to support primary care providers, alliances and primary health organisations (PHOs) to progress consumer engagement in primary care. It offers context, tools and examples for primary care providers, alliances and PHOs to consider. While the principles of engagement still apply, this resource was updated in 2022/23 to reflect the reformed health system as described by the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022.
Further updates to this resource were made in 2025.
