The Fono (skin infections in the Tuvaluan community, equity and consumer/community focus)

Project overview: Skin and subcutaneous skin infections in a Pacific population. Working with the Auckland Tuvaluan community to develop and test culturally appropriate methods to address health inequities in skin and soft tissue infection (SSTI) rate, prevention and treatment for Pacific peoples and Māori.


South City Health (improving outcomes and addressing inequity for high-need eczema patients, aged under 18)

Project overview: Improving outcomes and addressing inequity for high-need eczema patients, aged under 18, through development and testing of a free, easily accessible, nurse-led clinic offering eczema education and support.


Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to responding to high-needs patients within a kaupapa Māori context)

Project overview: Preventing cellulitis/infected eczema-related late presentations and/or hospitalisations through the development of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to responding to high-needs patients within a kaupapa Māori context. Aims are: improved health literacy, Whānau Manaaki and better coordinated support between general practice and the community setting.
