Implementing and sustaining the Raise the Flag sepsis package
Guidance and tools to support organisations implementing, monitoring and sustaining the Raise the Flag package.
Implementing the package
Clinical pathways are one part of the Raise the Flag package. Evidence shows that pathways are most effective when combined with education, implementation support, governance and measurement. For this reason, we recommend implementing the full package rather than individual resources in isolation.
Successful implementation includes:
- clinical and governance leadership
- education and training for staff
- local clinical champions
- integrating pathways and tools into routine practice
- adapting resources to local settings
- measurement, audit and review activities to support ongoing improvement
